Dear Fellow Sportsmen & Sportswomen,
Quarry Ridge Hunt Club is going into its fifth successful year of operation! During the 2010-11 year we released over 4000 birds.
The club house and food plots are constantly being improved to make each visit better than your last. With great habitat, great birds, and great members it’s hard not to have a memorable hunting experience at Quarry Ridge Hunt Club.
Remember that for large or small groups, food and beverage after the hunt can be provided by our sister company; The Rafters Restaurant & Catering.
We look forward to seeing you during the 2011-2012 season! Our season starts September 15th, 2011 and will continue until March 31st, 2012. Check out our online store to purchase your membership and QRHC paraphernalia.

REVIEW OF OUR FIRST EUROPEAN TOWER SHOOT HELD AT THE CLUB
::We held our first European Tower Shoot out at the club in October 2010 and lets just say this won't be our last!
The day started with a full catered meal from The Rafters, roast deer and an open house at the club. After lunch we headed out to the tower and released over 50 pheasants and over 50 chukar. While the concept of a tower shoot doesn't sound so challenging, the hit ratio to birds released was about 65%. It's definitely more challenging than it sounds!
If you have not participated in a tower shoot before, this is something you won't want to miss! Click the photo above to view pics and view the video below.
The birds are released from a ~20-foot tall tower located in the center of a ring of ten to fifteen (10-15) shooting stations. Birds are released from the top of the tower and their flight path is anyone’s guess – you never know how many will fly over your station! Shooters rotate stations and have a chance to shoot from every station. After all birds are released, hunters are invited to walk the fields and “clean-up” any missed birds from the tower shoot.

You can also book your own private tower shoot!

:: QRHC HUNT TEST ::
That’s right; we’re planning to put on a Hunt Test at Quarry Ridge Hunt Club! The competition will consist of timed hunts, trophies, and cash prizes. Styled after hunt test competitions put on across the nation (and world), the competition is sure to be an exciting challenge for all participants! Even if you haven’t run in a competition before, we strongly encourage you to give it a try!
In our usual style, it will be a relaxed atmosphere of hunting, food, beverages, and fun throughout the day while challenging man and dog to the hunt test. Four (4) birds per field. The competition is basically scored on;
- How many birds you come out of the field with...
- Amount of time it takes...
- Number of shells used...
- Dog points, retrieves, and accuracy.
This event will be privately held within our club and does not apply to any other contests or tests - It’s simply a great way for a newcomer to give Hunt Test competitions a whirl and for the experienced participants to keep in practice or start new dogs in the hunt test world. There’s even the bonus of cash prizes and trophy!
